Can't add pictures to a post

Hi there!

Somehow, I can't add pictures to a post anymore. I had no problems with Opera, Chrome and IE, but in FireFox 4.0.1 I just can't add them anymore. I do get the pop-up but whenever I click one of the photo's nothing happens. Except for one thing and that is that the URL gets an '#' symbol at the end. I'm not sure if this is a bug since I haven't heard anyone else with this problem, but I have no idea what else it could be.

My OS is Windows 7 64x

Thanks for your time
IronRain

ohh, and I already did the basic stuff like emptying cache and that kind of stuf

I can confirm that there's a JavaScript error when using the photo pop-up window in Firefox. There was probably a security update for JavaScript in Firefox, which causes this issue.

The pop-up window cannot access the editor:

It doesn't look like that modification has been updated in a while, so we'll have to see if we can fix the code ourselves. Thank you for reporting the problem!

No problem I just tried uploading some pictures in the screen shot thread with IE and no problems at all. Updated java didn't solve the problem for FireFox

It isn't JAVA which is responsible for executing JS scripts, but Internet browser which has built-in interpreter for JavaScript. JavaScript can be executed even without JAVA installed in system, only if browser supports the JavaScript, so updating Java won't change anything.

Please make sure, that a page from which you open the pop-up window to choose pictures has "www." before "orbiter-forum.com" in the URL. The photo/images pop-up is opened with "www." at the beginning, and if the opener window is without "www." it's treated as cross-domain request which has no permission to access the parent window having different URL.

If you still can reproduce the issue, please check it with Firefox with disabled extensions ("Run with disabled extensions" in "Help" menu).

hey, that solved the problem.. I'm not sure though why I didn't had www. in the URL since I have a quick starter for O-F which is http://www.orbiter-forum.com/

Seems to work again and if it doesn't I'll be back soon

Thanks for helping Orb and Tex

I'm sorry to get back to this issue again, but I think there may be a bug although I'm not sure.

Whenever I start O-F with the starter in FF4 everything is ok, it uses www.orbiter-forum.com. But, when I click on the links to go to threats, the URL changes automatically from www.orbiter-forum.com/xxxxxxx to http://orbiter-forum.com/xxxxxxx.

I don't know if this is because of the links on the forum or because FF4 automatically shortens the URL, but I thought it was some valuable info to post here.

When you hover your mouse over the links, what address does FF4 show in the status bar? I've been using FF4 for sometime now and I have not noticed this issue.

That's why I'm not sure whether it's a bug or not

It shows the normal http://www.orbiter-forum.com/xxxxx

So now we can rule out that it's the not the link that I'm clicking on right?

Funny thing: I've noticed that FF randomly deletes the 'www'. It doesn't do it all the time..

The next time this happens, could you paste the link to the reference page here so we can determine if the link itself needs to be fixed in the code or if your browser is randomly removing the www on its own. Cheers mate.

I think I've found it..

Here's a video of what happens:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0yH_ixhYa8

As you can see, the www. is in the URL when I access the forum and also when I select a thread to read but as soon as I click the header it deletes the www. section in the URL. Is this enough information for you guys?

Edit: Please tell me when you've seen the video. I'll delete it then

2nd edit: Is it possible that it's skin related? This because I've checked some things and the www. disappearing trick only happens when I've selected the 'Apollo fluid' skin

Yes, it is skin related. The link for header image in Apollo fluid forum style has had no www. in the URL. This is fixed now.
