'tis true. I use RSS Bandit and it complains at similar errors. The OFFICIAL validator does complain as well:

After clearing browser's cache I can reproduce it.

The error is caused by XR2 Reconnaissance add-on description.

I don't know. There were also other add-ons known that broke rss feed in the past, but Vash fixed either them or script to put them in the rss somehow. Let's just wait.

Edit: Now it's the "Russian Missile Defense v0.5" which is causing errors for me.

The problem seems to be always the most recent addon. It is now tripping up on http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4773 which is presently at the top of the Newest Files list. According to the validator, the problem is the non-breaking space being an "undefined entity".

I was trying to get the rss feed from orbithangar, but ran into trouble.
I then tried 2 validators which both informed that the rss feed is not valid:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...Inline&group=0

and

http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?u...rss%2Ffeed.xml

I can't decipher what they say the errors are actually about though, but I thought I would post it here anyway.

I can confirm that currently the RSS doesn't show any listing.

It says there isn't defined ´ entity which should represent character, that is used as an apostrophe in the name of this add-on.

A most probable cause is that there is no DTD source defined for the feed, in which the "´" entity would be defined, and the default one (used for XML files) doesn't define it either.

@orb; so basically we addon-uploaders are ruining the rss feed because of the various ways we describe our addons on the hangar? If I understand you right

Well, that's one possible way of looking at it. There is also the counter-argument that we coders should gracefully handle input that deviates from the accepted norms . FWIW, I've notified Vash of the issue. He's been rather busy lately so I'm not sure when he'll get to it. I've also notified the author of the offending addon.

This would be a good time to say thanks for all the work you guys do on these sites. Thanks

Besides, 'accepted norms' on an international site is always a challenge, with many languages having their own specific character-maps with unique non-international letters and so on. Even if you write in english, localized versions of windows can bring funny results about. Not always easy to code for I imagine.
Well, we'll get there when we get there
