General Question I'm completely new to this program and its forum. What forums should I go to? What should I learn?

What are some forums for beginners? How do I learn to launch the space shuttle to the ISS from launch into sunrise? There's 1 tutorial on youtube and he goes way too fast, doesn't explain anything, and doesn't show you what he's clicking because he uses almost only hotkeys. Is there a tutorial that gives you step by step instructions on this website anywhere? (Yes I tried looking. For an hour.)

I realize I might have to learn other stuff before jumping straight to the space shuttle (not the space shuttle ultra), so what is that material, where in the forums do they talk about it, and how do I learn it?

Please go easy on me, I'm a complete beginner. I want to become familiar with this program and this website but unfortunately 99% of the forums on this website are for people who already know what they're doing.

I'm using orbiter 2016 if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Orbiter Forum! I suggest checking out Go Play In Space as a tutorial on how to get the DeltaGlider into orbit. :) Once you get used to that, you can tackle the space shuttle.
Thank you kind sir! Once I've mastered the material in "Go Play In Space", where do I go to take on the space shuttle?

Hey, the way I learned it was by checking out David Courtney's excellent youtube playlist, the absolute beginner's guide. I highly reccomend that you check it out. Go Play In Space is also a great resource, but Mr. Courtney's videos are more descriptive and informative. Here is the link.

For the space shuttle, you can check out the scenario included in default orbiter, it is a pre-recorded flight that shows you how to fly and rendezvous the space shuttle via annotations. You should learn the basics from Mr. Courtney's videos before so that it is easier to understand what they are doing in the scenario.

Hope this Helps.

I want to add that I am also brand new to this game, just downloading it today. I went to find "must have" add-ons but the link seems to be broken.
What is recommended for tools/utilities/etc. that many feel are "must have"s. I have installed the Vanilla game with no add-ons or mods at all atm.

Thanks in advance!

Orbiter comes with no sound, get it at Dan's Orbiter Page at http://orbiter.dansteph.com/. The graphics client is D3D7, fly for a bit in it, then when you're ready, his site also has a link for the D3D9 graphics client. Be sure to read the manuals with them as there is some setup tasks with each. Continue to read the .pdf manuals that come with Orbiter in the docs folder, and any other add-ons you may get including the aforementioned. You should get pretty good at the DeltaGlider and other ships before you tackle the Shuttle, it's much harder. Other add-ons may be had at https://orbithangar.com/, but, not all of them are compatible with Orbiter2016, many were posted with previous releases. In any case, go slow, learn each one well before you add a whole bunch and start having run issues. Check out the Orbiter Wiki, https://www.orbiterwiki.org/wiki/Main_Page, lotsa good stuff there and improving all the time. And feel free to ask questions here and search for what is already posted here. But, you learn best by trying everything and crashing a few times until you get it. We've crashed about everything that's crashable.
