I'm going to keep it simple: This is great!  Are you planning a native Linux version to be released? Good to see you put out great stuff again!

The (official) Discord server now available!

I haven't had any further communications trying to link my Discord account following the instructions... Anyone here can review the status, it's been a couple of weeks already... Actually I think we still lived in a world free of gloves, masks and unlimited Netflix binge watching... :blink...

Gaming The Kerbal Space Program - Version 1.2.x

I, for one, want to thank HarvesteR for "bridging" the path for Orbiter... with it's simplified, smaller and more "experimental" approach to learning spaceflight, I'm sure quite a few recent orbinauts started off blowing unsuspecting Kerbals into charred greenish splatters on a launchpad... :P...

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

Last time I checked, they do succeed in launching commercial payloads to space... The experimental phase is the first stage landing at this point. You guys really are in full black and white mode... When the discussions are much more informative and good humoured on the Facebook...

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

You know, people really, really should be taking a step back and look at the whole picture. SpaceX is testing their procedures, pushing the envellop, getting kinks out of the system... However you choose to call it, it still is an experimental phase of flight that almost noone dared to touched...

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

The video of yesterday's attempt would seem to prove the contrary. It remained relatively stable up until that leg slowly got loose and the rocket fell like a giant tree.

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

This is precisely why they test... if you never launch on an heavy fog day, how else will you know ice buildup could mechanically interfere with latching of a landing leg? Think Kerbal. Incremental bug elimination :-p

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

Well... if you can't have the shock absorption on the rocket, why can't you have it on the barge itself? An adjustable platform, with hydraulic actuators, to keep a landing platform level and absorb a landing, while the barge can move a little more freely with the swells underneath it.

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

Well, I know some people are going to spin this negatively for SpaceX, but objectively, they are trashing first stages in the ocean anyway, so might as well give it a try despite the marginal conditions. Let's not forget this was a NASA payload too, so there's a PR issue here as well not to...

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

The sat would have been to the south of the barge, in the direction of the incoming returning first stage ... it probably interfered with the sat link in the final few seconds, so we didn't get to see the "chemokinetic exothermal event" that took place just after LOS... Ah darn. I was...

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

"Slightly harder landing than expected, and it seems a landing leg broke" ... Well, I guess Just Read The Instructions took another one for the team ... This was the final shot with the F9 1.1 non-full thrust version, so maybe the new design iteration really corrected necessary bugs out of...

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

Body language of a group of SpaceX stations in Mission Control that celebrated the last landing seem to be chatting together and don't seem quite enthusiastic this time around ... I think she's dead, Jim.

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

Darn... The video feed cut out and so did the sat link to JRTI ... I have a bad feeling about this one... We would have seen people erupt in applause like the previous shot if the landing had been successful, but despite the sugar coating of the webcasters, the timing of LOS with the barge and...
