What a fun thing to think about!
Unfortunately I think their is no reason to believe that SpaceX would go to the moon, but I do think it is possible technically and might be slightly possible financially.
Technically, and my technical knowledge is limited, I think it is possible because I...
Was just watchin the video and iy occured to me to ask how expensive it would be to build in cross feed of the CBCs and how much of a performance increase would in see? Anyone ever see studys on this?
It's been a while since Ive used this addon. It is a bit tricky. I think I remember using the killrot on all the vehicals in the stack to stablize. But it is not impossible. I didnt want it to be too easy because any cluster like thst id going to be a pig to move around.
Thanks for posting all the news so consistently orb. I felt like you deserved a little more than a click of a mouse to show my gratitude.
A lot of the pics I've see of Dream Chaser in the air and some of the renders make me think of a Chevy Corvett or Porsche or maybe others. It looks like a...
Honestly, and this is not being a bias SpaceX fanboy for a sec, I think SpaceX is the only one that can do it with the money congress is likely to give them. If SpaceX wins a primary contract for the next round they will pretty much have a complete system. They only have to finish dev on the...
Sticking with burdensome government regulation and reducing competition, just not two things I would think a republican would stand for.
Is it just me or does this definitly rule out Blue Origins?
Now that I've read he report posted by Penguin Im not so sure. That is a lot of work. Everything is in pieces. When I first read the story I thought the scopes were built. Bummer.
Nah. Share the cost with colleges for the research and do all the hardware integration with commercial. Done and...done. It doesn' t have to be mega bucks if we really try to do it on the cheap. Plus if anything fails its really no loss. We get two funded FH launches which will be worth more in...
$300M is about the cost of 2 FH launches. And for signing up to be the first and second they could surely negotiate with the advantage. If SpaceX is going to launch the first on their own dime anyway... I think this idea has merit.
No. I must disagree. Nasa cotributing $300 mill to be the first couple of launches on Falcon Heavy would do more than loft a couple of telescopes to orbit. It would provide a subsidy for FH and make it way more likely to succeed. Plus if they do make it to orbit we have cool telescopes to...
Sounds like a job for... Ta da! Falcon Heavy!!

Time for congress to pull their thumb out of their posterior and take the $300 million back out of the SLS budget and buy two Falcon heavies!!
Wow pieces of the puzzle just keep falling into place for SpaceX. This is great news. I just hope the merlin is the most reliable engine ever built because it will have to be for a rocket that has 27 engines that must work at launch.
27 engines have flown so far. I remember hearing about some...
