General Question Cooperative flight

Just a question. I have an Orbiter 2016 and my friend has one as well, so is there a way to do a network share flight? I know about OMP, but as far as I know this module needs some kind of server. My version of OMP does not connect, I think because there are no working servers at all. So how do you start flying together?

AFAIR, such a module doesn't exist yet in that sense. And if it would exist, it would require a lot of support by the add-on module to make sense. You could use networking tools to share flight data, like ORB:Connect and let somebody help you navigate, to create a low tech version of this.

Actually, one of your two computers can be the server for both of you (read carefully OMP documentation in \Doc subfolder). The server shall be reached at its IP by both of you. Apparently, an sntp server must be specified to help the connetion quality (have a look there but other may suggest a server, better than I). In order to create a "local" network between distant computers, consider LogMeIn Hamachi that is a wellknown resource among gamers.

We (I+fellows) have setup a persistent universe on a server, not public yet but soon, please stay tuned on this thread (same subforum)

Well... As I see it, in order to make a coop flight, I need to do a lot of research. Thank's for answers!

Honestly - not yet. Because no ready to use solution and I wait for new releases of Orbiter. If community decide to make multiplayer then will be great.

Well, there is a running experiment to create a persistent universe and develop a gameplay using Orbiter's OMP add-on: still experimental but I am working on the feature to transfer a vessel from the user to the server when the user disconnects and vice versa when re-connecting.

The feature is not ready yet but, by the way, we'll have a new collective training tonight with a few new comers to Orbiter: at 8PM UTC (check with your local time). You can follow the session live on this Twitch (the video capture shows the UTC time) or take part with the set up here.
