Mayak is a new family of Ukrainian launch vehicles under development by the Yuzhnoye Design Office, which would be manufactured by Yuzhmash.

The family is built in a modular fashion on the basis of a single line of main engines with thrust of roughly 120 or 200 tonnes-force (1,200 or 2,000 kN) for the first stage (RD-801 or RD-810) and 10 tonnes-force (98 kN) for the upper stage (RD-809K derived from RD-8). Engines, control systems and ground equipment are largely derived from components of existing rocket families Zenit and Tsyklon.

The Mayak family is designed to cover small-lift, medium-lift and heavy-lift requirements.

The meshes and textures are from Zavodin Dmitry (Scorpius). Thank you!!!
So you cannot sold and/or used elsewhere than in Orbiter. If you want to use meshes and textures in other projects, please contact him first.

Thank You (crisbeta) and Thank You (Scorpius). This is a nice addition to the growing collection of launch vehicles that are happy in Orbiter 2016.

Are you planning to enable the entire family of Mayak launch vehicles? That would be great.

Peace,

cs

It was fast release before my holiday :)

It added now Mayak-M2 (Baikonur - LEO 200km 51.6deg - 14400kg). I also fixed scenario description for Mayak-M1.

Based on the official inclinations provided for maximum payload capability, Mayak launch vehicle was planned to be launch from Baikonur (for LEO) and Alcantara (for GTO, GSO).

Mayak Launch Vehicle

For the moment I will made scenarios for the above launch sites, but later I will extend to new Cyclone 4M launch site :)

Update v180723

Update v180723:
- Mayak-H5 - Baikonur - LEO 200km 51.6deg - 70100kg

I used the engines throttle capability of 56%-100% as RD-171, but this launcher seems more suited to RD-191 throttle capability of 27%-100% (operational 30%-100%). Before boosters separation, with 70t of payload, we have almost 6G (to much).

Update v190914

Update v190914:
- Mayak-H7 - Baikonur - LEO 200km 51.6deg - 97000kg

This is only a concept to increase payload. It is not on official launcher family list.

Update 180804:

Mayak-M2 - Alcantara

Required addon for Alcantara (there is also a scenario without Alcantara):
Brazilian Space Program for Orbiter v2 by 4th rock

Looks great on Alcantara, but for that they would certainly use the Cyclone pad.
(my addon only has the older VLS pad to the south).

The correct location would be:

This looks amazing but I can't download it. I click the download link and all I get is "The specified file does not exist."

Sorry for my late answer. I was away from Orbiter, but I will always come back :)

I reuploaded the file. Many thanks to O-F forum admins.

The new version also contains a list of integrations with other addon (more payloads for launcher).

Happy New Year!
