German Aerospace Day 2013: Control centers and a mockup

Great to hear that you like them.

I searched for some picture from Oberpfaffenhofen and found some with XP running. Looks like they've switched to Windows...

German Aerospace Day 2013: Control centers and a mockup

Interesting, I once was at the DLR MCC in Oberpfaffenhofen where they told me they'd use Linux as an operating system for all their control centers because of viruses etc. But in your pictures it appears to be different.

Off we go into some nice blue pla-anes...

Last year I wanted to fly from JFK to Manchester, UK and the cheapest flight stopped over at Atlanta. I flew hundreds of miles south and then a few hours later, flew back over New York again...

    Pictures Part 1

Great photos! I've actually got a 737-700 flight coming up in about a month.

Well, it's a bit hard to get direct flights there. AFAIK SAS via Copenhagen is also possible.

Yes, but it still feels somewhat stupid. According to Wolfram Alpha, the distance between Hanover and Bergen is 49 km....wrong Bergen.... 928 km. Hanover-Amsterdam is 330 km. Amsterdam-Bergen is 892 km. Means he travels nearly 30% longer distance compared to a direct flight.

It's a KLM flight, so it makes sense that it would stop in it's major hub.
