    Double edged sword of technology

If you forgot when you came from, that's your problem.
If your children don't know where they came from, that's your problem.

After antibiotics, I forgot how a simple scratch can be fatal.
Because of flushing toilets and sewers, I forgot to die of dysentry and cholera.

Yeah, them bottles in the bathroom... As a westerner who worked in the Balkans, I pretty much had to ask the seashell question at some point...

    Glad you liked it.
Still, it's mainly a dialogue of the evolution of the universe. And also of the role of the prime monitor in the evolution of life in the universe. And I think I made it a bit too dense with technical details...

Yeah. It is inspired in bit from that story. And a few more. Still, humanity doesn't get to interact or ask questions to the prime monitor. And the prime monitor isn't of this universe

Indeed, great short story - I first read it in my teens in the early '70s. and his work, along with stories by Sheckley, Robinson, Clarke, Blish,Heinlein, Anderson and Bester, formed the basis for my lifelong love of speculative fiction. Great reference, Face - brought back so many memories....
