Setting up a goal

Posted 02-17-2011 at 04:03 PM by Sar

So I've set myself a goal! That'll be the entrance exams to university physics at 2013 or 2014 depending on how things start to roll after next summer, but if everything goes well that's pretty manageable schedule, actually I could go and do the exams this spring if I wanted to, but with my current skills that'd be like building an apartment building with toothpicks and nailpolish, so I think I'll try to up the odds a bit. So back to school it is!

School will mean at least 10 courses...

A (very) small start...

Posted 02-16-2011 at 09:56 PM by Spacethingy

OK, so after a year of playing Orbiter, I want to start proper development!

I don't mean putting other people's hard work into UCGO boxes but actual models, ships....... STUFF!

And so, after a crash course in Anim8or (i.e. "Oooooo! What does THAT nice button do?!") here's my first mesh!

OK, so it's...

The Return of Endeavour

Posted 02-16-2011 at 06:40 AM by zerofay32

July 2012

Space Shuttle Endeavour is finally back home after a check up and refit out at the Palmdale Shuttle Factory. She was sent to her birthplace after landing at Edwards AFB at the end of STS-210 in Janurary. She arrived at the Shuttle Landing Facility piggy-backing on the SCA. Her managers at KSC have given her a once over in her OPF and have given NASA the go to put her back into the flight rotation. After a few months of getting ready, she will be launched on STS-212 in October....

The Lament of a Modern Explorer

Posted 02-16-2011 at 04:22 AM by fireballs619

I had to write a piece for my English class, and I thought I'd share. It had to be around 800 words, and this pulls in at 757. Feel free to critique.

Quote:
There was a time when, scribbled onto the borders of even the most accurate of sea charts, you could find the warning 'Here be dragons'. It was an era where you could live your entire life without leaving the comfort of the area you were born in. You could stand on top of a hill, and, seeing the distant lands that surround your

Ariane 6 soars with Eranda to OFSS2!

Posted 02-16-2011 at 12:06 AM by Kyle
Updated 02-16-2011 at 12:13 AM by Kyle

OFSS2 is ever growing. The addition of the newest, largest module.. Eranda is about to be launched. Its July 4th, and an oddly American mood has fallen over a foreign launch pad. In addition, this piece of 4th of July fireworks shall launch one the heaviest payload by a rocket since Skylab (though Nexus is far bigger in mass)

The Ariane 6 sits in the spotlight and all systems are GO! Weather is cool,...
