MCC #8 was performed 2 days ago. Several component racks came loose in one of the Hydroponics Modules which caused some damage during the burn. No hull punctures were discovered, but the damaged module had to be taken offline for 2 days while repairs were performed. Module is now back up and working although a significant amount of our repair supplies were consumed.

As the SSTV series of vehicles are designed to be self sufficient on consumables, there is not a lot of excess consumable...

Flight 42 - Almost there....

11/20 This was my last solo cross-country, destination KCUL. The plan was simple, the flight straightforward - take off & fly to KCUL, getting flight following from KEVV & transitioning the Charlie airspace, and do the same on the way back to KHNB, which if the winds were as forecast and close to what DUATS was estimating, should put me just over the 1.9 hours of solo time I needed.

Well, I could make this a long post about every detail of the flight, but honestly it was...

MCC #7 was performed this morning with no additional engineering flags. The burn was a bit longer than originally calculated after our TEI burn, but was within the range of values allocated in our delta V budget. This was due to the fact that the original calculations were done while we were still in Saturn's SOI. MCC #8 and MCC #9 should be more in line with calculated values because we are now clear of all SOIs except the Sun.

All engineering boards are green at this time except...

[MS Aerospace] Olympus Launchpad

Posted 12-07-2015 at 10:49 PM by Matias Saibene

Okay, I've corrected the problems of reflections and textures. I had a problem to tell to Orbiter where are the touchdown points, because I donīt knew the mesh coordinates, and I did not knew how to find them.
Thanks to SolarLiner who told me how to find them using the 3D axes feature in Orbiter visual helpers.

A fascination with simulators

Posted 12-07-2015 at 10:59 AM by garyw

Hello everyone, I'm Gary and I'm addicted to simulators. I think that this realisation came to me somewhere near Berlin when I was driving a Volvo FH16 with a load of tomatoes on the back - this being ETS2 of course and not real life!

Over the course of the weekend I'd driven around part of Europe in ETS2, flown from Hannover to London Heathrow and done a very nice (even if I do say so myself) touchdown on 27R in gusty conditions and performed a small ISS reboost in Orbiter.
