STS-24 with Scientific Laboratory 1

STS-24 is sitting on Pad 39B at che Cape, ready for the incoming night liftoff.
The purpose of the mission is to deliver a scientific laboratory aboard the CelestiaSpace Station, that will be mated to the Port hatch of Node 2 Serenity.

Expedition-4 heading for CSS

Following STS-23 landing, Soyuz-05 succesfully reached LEO on the 23rd of February 2010 on Expedition 4, to bring comm.Finch and comm.Yegorov to the CSS.
docking will occur in about 1,5 days.

Soyuz-03 back to solid ground

Soyuz-03 landed smoothly 650 km east of Baikonur cosmodrome in a cold morning, bringing back to Earth the cosmonaut Al Mahlid from S.Arabia and the Japanese Nakata after few month of staying on CSS.

STS-23 to CSS

Following the launch on the 19th of January 2010 and all the randevouz manouvers, the Space Shuttle Atlantis on mission STS-23 finally docked to Celestia Space Station on the 21st, bringing up the Node 2 with PMA2, that gives the station 4 extra docking ports for future modules.

Actually on the station are 3 Cosmonauts of Russian Federation, 2 specialists from Japan and Saudi Arabia and 5 Americans astronauts.

Building the CelestiaSpaceStation

A brief list of the launches of my SpaceTransportationSystem:

STS-1: first test flight of the Shuttle Atlantis, to test systems and reentry autopilot; landed succesfully at Cape (duration 2 days).
STS-2: tested Endeavour systems and landing autopilot at Edwards AFB; success (duration 3 days).
STS-3: tested Discovery systems and landing autopilotat White Sands; success (duration 3 days).
STS-4: tested Atlantis night landing at Cape; success (duration 4 days).
