No Man's Sky Part 1: Overhyped, underdelivering, game of my dreams.

Disclaimer: Any references to Starflight in this review do not refer to the Genesis port, which pretty much removed the coolest aspect of the game: Procedural real scale planets.

I will now state my oppinion about no man's sky in a multi-part blog post, because I feel I have to talk about the game from different perspectives. A simple review won't do, because I have to be pretty harsh with the game at times, while at the same time loving the hell out of it, and I need some space to...

No Man's Sky - A journey about to end, another about to begin

Posted 03-09-2016 at 09:13 PM by jedidia

Some people might have missed it: No man's sky opened preorders last week, and got its fixed release date for June 21(or a few days later, depending on where you live). The opening of the preorders coincided with games journalists being allowed to play the game for the first time, so suddenly there's a whole lot of new information out there. Considering everybody had 30 minutes to play a game that is potentially infinitely playable, that doesn't answer too many questions, of course.

Xeno... NUTS!

It's a good time to be a fan of the old game "UFO: Enemy unknown" (or X-COM: UFO defense, depending on where you live). It's undoubtedly the best time for it since the original title hit the shelves. One might be so bold to argue that it's a better time.

It is really perplexing: Ufo: Enemy unknown was one of the best turnbased squad tactics games of all time. What made it so beloved was not just its great mechanics and its unforgivable difficulty, it was also the fact that...

Doctor Who classic season 1 review

Being as obsessed with old scifi as I am, I decided to watch old Who, from its very beginnings. My wife objected after a few episodes (although she sat quite bravely through all of Star Trek: TOS), so we switched to new Who instead, with me watching a few episode of the classic series every now and then when she isn't around. Since she's currently in the hospital, and I spend most of the day visiting her and the kids there and am usually too tired in the evening to do anything useful, I actually...

Orbiter Galaxy is taking a break

Posted 03-17-2011 at 02:59 PM by jedidia

I have fought to put this moment off for as long as possible, but it finally happened. I have to take a break from orbiter galaxy developement. The project isn't by any means abbandoned, but it might be quite a while until I pick developement up again.

The reason is a little pecularity of mine: I have two major areas of interest, Science Fiction and Fantasy. They don't go parallel, instead the focus shifts in not too regular intervals. And whenever I'm into the one, I am pretty disinterested...
