At this point I have shored up the necessary sections of the frame with self-drilling screws. It wasn't until I was ready to add these screws that I realized I'd picked up the hex-head instead of Philips. Not a big deal, I can live with it from an aesthetics perspective, and I can always change them out later.

I have also attached the mounting boards for the joystick and throttle. Earlier during gluing I had noticed a few fit/alignment issues due to inconsistencies in the parts...

DIY Flightsims - Floor Unit with Center Joystick

Just for fun, and for my own amusement I guess, I decided I'd turn this into a project blog. I also figured this would be better than to keep using the ChatBox to share my progress.

Some have already seen my recent comments and links posted in the ChatBox earlier this week, but for the rest, a little background:

I was poking around the DIY Flightsims/Rodger Dodger Aviation site last Saturday, and after about an hour, I decided I'd like to try my hand at building...

AOSP or Advanced Orbiter Scenario Parser

Posted 07-12-2013 at 09:23 PM by SolarLiner (SolarLiner's Blog)

Here we go. Along with my Shuttle PB Mk2 project, I started this one with an idea: how simply can Orbiter scenarios can be handled ? The answer was definitely AOSP.

So, what is AOSP ?
It is a bunch of classes that allow developers using whatever .NET language to create, modify and save Orbiter Scenarios. It's a challenging project for me, and I sure will learn a lot about coding on this one too.
AOSP will provide the developer a nice set of classes, which are much easier...

Hi !
I worked on a Google Form to help you and me get the bug-report task easier.
So, you found any bug ? Let it posted here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1942...kiOfvVjdQZ2tHs

As for the dev, well, nothing is really new. Exams + exams + exams + no-infos school about these exams = no time to do hobbies. Sorry for that, I'll do the best I can do for my little ship

PART 14: Making the Cockpit Interactive

So last we left off we had a cockpit and a shiny cockpit control class that didn't actually do anything. Now it's time to do stuff.

VC displays and user inputs are handled by "Active areas" that are registered when the VC is loaded. To generate these active area s I have created a function called "RegisterActiveAreas" in our cockpit control class. (See part 13) this function is a void and takes a single VECTOR3...
