NEWS: Asteroid about to take a little dip on earth's gravity well

Posted 09-05-2012 at 09:40 AM by Vast fury

A relatively large asteroid, just discovered on August 28th, will fly past the Earth-Moon system on Sept 14th only 2.8 million km (7.4 lunar distances) away. 2012 QG42 is about as wide as three football fields and comes to us from just beyond the orbit of Mars. Astronomers who are now monitoring the space rock say it shines about as brightly as a 15th magnitude star.

As what I have observed every month, There's a declining number of active orbinauts in the site. Last Month there were only 20 active orbinauts. However, I'm glad to see that the number has doubled this month. I have hoped fot the orbiter community to grow, but as we all know, if we don't take action, there won't be any improvements..

Being the most Awesome Space Simulator to date, We should not let it be wasted to oblivion. We should make it famous. We can inform a lot of people...
