Minecraft Showcase: PowerCraft

Posted 01-02-2012 at 06:52 PM by blane

I thought I share with you guys what I have been doing in SSP recently. I found PowerCraft which is a very intuitive and simple industrial/automatation mod. In just a few hours I was able to build a nice remote controlled subway system:

Minecraft 101 - Not getting lost

Posted 12-26-2011 at 12:23 PM by blane

This one is fairly obvious, but some people may not think of it, so I put it up here.

Whenever I explore a cave (or dig out mining shafts) I always put my torches on the right wall. This way I can easily find the exit by keeping the torches to my left. If exits are not easily seen, I usually put 3-4 torches on the ground to mark the exits.

Minecraft 101 - Gravel & Torches

Posted 12-20-2011 at 02:39 AM by blane

Starting here with some things I start to remember from playing Minecraft.

Are you annoyed by gravel? Here's a useful hint. If you are in front of a high gravel wall and you just want to dig along, don't waste your shovel. Destroy the lowermost gravel block with a torch and immediately place the torch on one of the side walls after it is destroyed. This way all gravel blocks will fall down and be automatically destroyed by the torch. Saves shovel...
