Nothing ever became of 8-track in Europe. It is contained mostly to the States.

Compact Discs? Hell, do you know what a minidisc was? What about cassette tape? what about an L.P. / 45?
You forgot Laserdisc.

I just had a bad case of nostalgia, went on eBay and bough a Sony Walkman radio cassette player.
I wish I had kept mine for what seems like another universe ago. Never knew the 2000s where going to suck so bad.

Ah! The Laserdisk! Just like Bettamax and HD-DVD...

And, yes, although being only 17, I do know what "like a broken record" means. If you break a world record, you'll be very proud, wouldn't you? So you'd go on and on about it.

Right?

I'm 14 and I know what it means. (Totally not trying to one-up Spacethingy)

Shouldn't that be "you sound like a stuck record"?

Hmm, maybe a regional difference. Still, nothing beats the old wax cylinders:

My 12 year old told me that a boy in her class loudly announced yesterday that his grandfather, "has all these old huge black CDs" and then indicated with his hands a 12 inch disk.

"Stuck record" sounds better than "broken" for sure - and definitely a regional dialect thing.
