Okay, one more, guys.
![]() UPDATE: Aquila entered the atmosphere this evening on schedule, and was heralded by twin sonic booms heard on the ground at Wideawake International at 21:50 UTC as it passed overhead. Lumbering around its heading alignment cone, the spacecraft maintained a distance of 20 kilometers to the runway as it settled in for final approach. Aquila flew for 11 days, 8 hours, 38 minutes and 42 seconds. She covered 5,399,751 nautical miles over 182 orbits. The mean altitude of orbit was 305 miles. This RSS feed is concluded. Atlantis just left for flight number 16. Simple mission, so I will try to post plenty of screen shots as I go along, keep things exciting, and prove I actually flew the thing.

Was significantly off the plane of the station, so that took some juice. Offset some of the burns that raised the altitude to also get a closer relative inclination, then fixed the rest here: ![]() Got everything checkout and set up for docking: ![]() Approaching the station from underneath, got visual from the rear windows: ![]() ![]() Got to about 650 feet, then performed the RPM: ![]() ![]() Pitched up and got into docking attitude: ![]() ![]() Until I realized that the PMA is not oriented that way, so I need to roll the Shuttle on to its side: ![]() ![]() ![]() and finally docked, ring retracted, hooks closed, and now to leak checks

Robotic Ops!
Grappling the MPLM with the Shuttle's RMS arm. ![]() Handing the MPLM over to a station arm. ![]() Docking it to the station, to then unload the supplies and fill it up again with trash. ![]() MPLM is undocked. ![]() Hand it over back to the Shuttle's RMS arm. ![]() Might be unorthodox using the Shuttle's arm for this part, but by doing it this way, I was able to secure it in the Payload Bay using the RMS dialogue and not have to edit the scenario file. ![]() Time to undock. ![]() ![]() ![]() And time for the flyaround to document visually the station. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Seperation burn from the OFSSIII ![]() Deorbit burn to set up a night landing at Kennedy Space Center. ![]() And I had just about enough OMS juice to complete the deorbit burn....cut it a little close... ![]() And here we are arriving at Kennedy Space Center, runway 15 ![]() ![]() Welcome home Atlantis.
