Back with a [supersonic, bone-crunching] bang...

Ah, Orbiter. It's so nice to see you again...

I tend to rotate what games I play, depending on mood. It's not really organised; I just find myself playing loads of something and then stopping. Last month, Simutrans, the month prior to that, GeneRally and Toca2 Touring Cars (yeah, I'm a 90's/early 00's kid...). And when life's hectic, that's all I can really set my mind down to.

But when stress sets in, something special is required. The nails have been bitten, the comfort...

Architect - The Basics

Posted 01-13-2014 at 03:30 AM by Aev

Hi everyone,

This will be the first of many upcoming biweekly blog posts. Realistically speaking, there may be times where I post weekly, but I will refrain from appearing inactive or passive by not posting for longer than two weeks. Anyway, hopefully this initial article will shed some light on any unanswered questions.

Suggestions, requests, or propositions for the project can be made here: http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=32936

All remaining alignment and phasing burns for Europa arrival have been performed with no anomalies reported. We are on course for final EOI burn in 10 days after a few more orbits of Jupiter.

Passengers have begun preparing for Europa Station construction and water missions to the surface. So far all engineering checks have passed. Reports from Earth are that the ETV is now fully packed and waiting for our arrival at Europa before it begins its 15 day transit to Jupiter.

First orbital alignment burn with 4 forward and 2 reverse EHEs occurred with no engineering issues to report. Phasing burn tomorrow will use only 2 of each EHE in each direction as will all burns until we arrive on station at the L2 point in the Jupiter-Europa system.

The report from Earth is that the ETV has been loaded with all the spare parts that we will need to repair our non-functional EHEs. This will allow us to use all 17 EHEs for the TEI and EOI burns later in our mission....

After a 15 minute 25 second burn of the 12 operational aft facing EHEs, we are now in orbit of the planet Jupiter, exactly 100 days after departing Lunar Station. This is the fastest manned transit from the Earth-Moon system to Jupiter on record.

Based on the parameters of our initial Jupiter orbit, we have determined that 3 orbital alignment and 2 phasing burns will be required for us to meet up with the moon Europa. Due to the high thrust to weight ratio of the EHEs, we will only...
