All life support and hydroponics modules are now operational. The mechanical repair bays and laboratory modules have been activated and are being checked out. SSTV-01 has been orientated to cruise attitude with the main docking port pointing directly at the sun. All modules are running within normal temperature ranges and all engineering boards are green at this time.

The TJI burn was the longest burn ever performed by EHEs and they performed perfectly. Initial calculations show that...

All cargo is now locked in and tied down. Fuel is being trickle fed from 2 XR5s to the ISS and from there to SSTV-01. The 2 XR5s that will be going with us to Europa have launched and should dock within a few hours.

After these 2 XR5s have docked with us, one of the refueling XR5s will undock and do a fly around to take photos from various angles.

All boards are green at this time.

Mission timeline is as follows:

The last XR5 payload mission has now docked with SSTV-01 and the unloading and attaching of the cargo pods to the cargo bay should be completed in a few hours. 3 additional XR5 refueling missions have been added to the timeline to top off our fuel tanks as well as restock the ISS. Unlike the Lunar Station, the ISS was not designed to refuel a ship as large as SSTV-01. So far the mission has gone very smoothly and no outstanding engineering issues are being worked at this time.

Several...

HASSESA Update 10/03/13

Posted 10-03-2013 at 02:11 PM by Samuel Edwards

Bringing Crew Back Home:

After the storms of September, Ascension Island is reopening to continue operation. At the beginning of the month fifty crewmen elected to leave Ascension for temporary work at the Kennedy Space Center until the storm season ended.

HASSESA was looking for a contract to fly our crewmen back home. The 10+ hour flight was too much for any HASSESA Air aircraft. NASA accepted the offered contract and will be flying our guys back in the middle of...

Upsilon Andromedae: Strange New Worlds

Posted 10-03-2013 at 04:40 AM by BruceJohnJennerLawso

Hello out there,

So you may have noticed some my current activity being focused a great deal on Upsilon Andromedae. The whole story about that can be found here

http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=32131

But suffice to say that the project is sort of like a semi-open ended VSA. Schedules & plans are flexible, but there is one major goal for the forseable future. Instead of the moon, the Andromedans have Upsilon Andromeda DII, the second planet...
