The how's and why's of rating addons

For a while I've been observing the addon voting system on OrbitHangar and it seemed to me like people didn't put enough thought into the vote the assign to an addon, or that in some cases, they vote dishonestly, because they don't want to offend the author.

So I decided to write guide that will hopefully provoke some thought, before a rating is given. This has been a long time coming.

Another 'Huh' moment

I just decided an hour or so ago to do the Apollo 8 mission, despite having never even made a serious attempt at AMSO before. Much like when I launched Atlantis a few months ago, I was mildly surprised when two hours later I was sitting in a scorched capsule south of Hawaii, having just travelled ~800 000 kilometers, to the Moon and back. Mission was completely successful. Final GET at splashdown: 122 hours, 6 minutes, 45 seconds. Pericynthion was 67 km.

I know that there are a lot of theories out on the Internet on what happened at Reno on Friday last week, so let’s look at known facts.
