Progress-06 lifted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome this evening for the 6th resupply mission to CSS.
It will deliver supplies in preparation for arrival of Discovery's STS-27 mission in late October, and fuel for CSS and for the upcoming MPLM Raffaello's reserve tanks.

STS-26 is now sitting on pad 9 minutes bifore launch.
Liftoff will occur at 10:38:08 UT.

It is the riturn at flight of Endeavour Space Shuttle after the landing accident that damaged the orbiter at the end of STS-20 mission, more than 12 month ago.

Endeavour will deliver the second set of port solar arrays to the station, plus a new long arm that will be used for truss assembly and will be brought back on...

Soyuz-04 brought Expedition 3 crew on the ground 600 km east of Baikonur.
Cosmonaut Ilushin and miss.spec.Sharon left comm. Finch and comm. Yegorov on the Station; they'll come back to Earth as Expedition 4 crew with Soyuz-05 as soon as Soyuz-06 with Expedition 5 arrives in mid-september.

A new Crew Transportation Vehicle will soon replace the Soyuz for european orbital journeys to and from the Celestia Space Station.

Maiden manned flight is scheduled for 2010 fall.

The first operational flight to the station is scheduled for mid 2011 to relieve Expedition 8 resident crew (Soyuz-09).

Similar in shape to the vintage Apollo capsule, will be able to carry 4 to 6 crew members in LEO and deliver up to 1000 kg of fuel.
