Russian Air Force 100th anniversary

Last Sunday there was an air show in Zhukowski to mark the 100th anniversary of Russian Air Force. I have been there with my family, and I'm happy to show you some of the pictures I've taken there.
1st, there were many guests, like this dashing French on his Dassault Rafale:

... or the Red Arrows:

Air combat exercise by two MiGs:

Finally, I've seen T-50 flying:

Few beautiful shots of The Swifts and The Russian Knights:

Just the sky that day...

See even more pics in my wife's blog: http://sib-koshik.livejournal.com/196622.html#cutid1

Yes! Very nice. The wife's pictures are very good as well.
I love the smoke and noise of airshows. Sadly Chattanooga doesn't know how to put on a good one. But I've been known to drive to Pensacola in November just to see the Blue Angel's "Homecoming" show.
I'm a big fan of the Skytyper's too, flying the old SNJ-6. Airshows rock!Posted 08-16-2012 at 03:03 PM by PhantomCruiser

Unfortunately, this time we have missed the first half of the show, when some old aircraft replica were flying (including Bleriot monoplane from 1912, see the pics! http://users.livejournal.com/___lin_...77.html#cutid1)
It so happened that not even flyable MiG-15 was found in Russia, so, like most other restored and replicated planes on display, it was borrowed from a private collection of some American.
One guy who accompanied us told us he was excited to see the B-25 flying, because his grand-dad was fighting Nazis as a crewman of one of those (but his plane wasn't such shiny

Looks like it was a fantastic show. I also love air shows, and we get a few good USAF ones every year or so. Actually, I went to one at an Air Force Base south of me and they had a fantastic variety of planes flying, including the F-15C, F-22A, F/A-18F, E-8 JSTARS, C-5, C-130, and the Blue Angels Navy demo team. Great show all in all.Posted 08-16-2012 at 03:47 PM by Codz

The Great Tennessee Airshow in Smyrna is always pretty good. For the past two years I've went, they've had one of the military demo teams come up and fly.Quote:Yes! Very nice. The wife's pictures are very good as well.

The Blue Angels killed any competition the Thunderbirds could have offered, IMO.
Anyways, great pics and blog, SiberianTiger!Posted 08-16-2012 at 09:11 PM by Eli13
