Independent Space Agency - XR02-02 FRR

Independant Space Agency - XR02-02 Flight Readiness review

Overview:
The XR2-02 mission will see the XR-2 "Raven" launch from Ascension island, dock with the Arrow and travel to the moon where the XR-2 will land followed by the arrow.
This mission will test out basic arrow systems and handling as well as deploy a new lunar expedition crew and deploy the azure rover which will allow longer tranverses than previous expeditions have seen.
The arrow will stay for approximately 4 days before departing back to Earth with the Delta-glider currently situated on the moon.

  • Launch Date: November 2nd 2008.
  • Lunar Landing date: November 6th 2008
  • Lunar departure: November 12th 2008
  • Earth arrival: November 14th 2008

The Independant Space Agencies current status for this mission is listed below:

Vehicles
Crew transport is under going final checks and will be ready to support
The pride of Ascension will be acting as rescue frigate in case of ditching both on launch and landing, p.o Ascension will be ready to depart one day prior to launch and will take up station 80nm East of Ascenion.

Sta-1 will be performing a few night time runway approaches to test out new xeon lighting on the runway.

Sta-2 is reserved for crew training.

Logistics
All payloads integrated and loaded on board the XR-2 via the Woo Aerospace cargo frame.

Tower
Ready to support an will clear the sky for us within 30nm in either direction 3 hours before launch.

Mod
Looking at latest positioning of arrow and will have 2 launch windows for us.

Crew
Final training runs this week then they will stand down for a few days r&r.

Overton island
Ready to support mission. Edwards and other abort locales are available.

Prop
Have sufficent fuel for 3 x loads. No problems and ready to support.

Comms/radar
Two dishes are down for maintenance and two assigned to existing missions. We still have sufficent capacity in primary and backups to support. Tdrs ready to support. Tracking systems also ready to support.

Lunar Base
All systems and landing aids are working correctly and the lunar expedition crew are eager to greet the new expedition.

Arrow
All systems on board the arrow are functionally as expected and the Arrow is ready to support the mission.

All systems and departments are ready to support the mission. The FRR is GO for XR02-02.
