Week in the Big Apple!

Well, I just finished my first week in New York City! Before I go into any details, I'll summarise:
What I did/saw:
- Empire State Building (86th floor viewing deck)
- Staten Island Ferry (free ferry past Statue of Liberty, hopped straight back to Manhattan)
- Natural History Museum (excellent astronomy section with a massive iron meteorite chunk to touch)
- Chrysler Building, Central Park, Times Square, Broadway, UN building (I passed or explored these on foot)
- Battery park (remember the Men in Black HQ? It's there in real life!)
- Wall Street
I'm especially pleased that I only had to pay for 2 of my attractions while I've been here
Impressions:
- This place is totally crazy. Especially if, like me, you're used to living in the countryside!
- While it can, at times, look very intimidating, it has been completely safe for me.
- 1 week has been long enough, at least for a stay right in the centre of everything.
- If (when!) I next come back, I would like to bring someone else with me. I think there is a lot to be shared here, and I bet it would be totally different exploring with a friend.
So yeah - it has been completely amazing. Seeing the things that I've been seeing in movies, pictures, art, television, etc... for years has been mind-blowing. Life here is fast paced (even for a tourist!), and there is an incredible range of people here, from all walks of life.
Tomorrow, it's onwards to Chicago!
